DEPARTMENT PROFILE

 The Department of Physics is one of the leading departments in V.V.Giri Govt Kalasala, Dumpagadapa.

•  The department has its origin in 2001 when the college was under the affiliation of the Andhra University -Vishakapatnam.
•  The B.Sc course with Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science as a combination was started in the year 2001 as a self finance course. The guest faculty in physics used to run the course 
•  The B.Sc course with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as a combination was started in the year 2009 as a conventional course. 
• In the beginning the B.Sc physics students used to attend university examinations in the year end pattern up-to 2011-2014 admitted batch.
• Later on the college was under the affiliation of Adikavi Nannaya university from 2012-13 admitted batch.
• From 2015-16 admitted batch onwards the Adikavi Nannaya university introduced semester end examination pattern.
• From 2015-16 admitted batch onwards “(CBCS) CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM” was introduced in every state university as a policy matter.
• From the academic year 2015-16, admitted batch the physics syllabus was revised as semester system was introduced .
• From 2020-21 admitted batch onwards the physics syllabus was again revised as per the NEP 2020.
• In each semester a continuous internal evaluation system was followed under which 25 marks were given to students based on their performance in mid examinations, assignments seminars and participation in extension activities. The students attempted University semester examinations for 75 marks.
