DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
PROFILE
The Department of English has been in existence with the establishment of the college in 1974.Presently there is one sanctioned post in the Department. The faculty of the department strives hard to enrich the students’ knowledge and skills to suit to the changing needs and aspirations of the society. They strive hard for all round development of the students. They do their best effort to improve the standards of the students. The globalization and the growing importance of English language have made it imperative both for the teachers and students to refresh their skills from time to time to develop their abilities of spoken English along with the written English.
Majority of the students studying in this college come from rural areas and belong to the first-generation literates. They show meager interest in the subject due to inborn fear and lack of proper understanding of the value of the subject. Further the faculty of the department make themselves ever available to help the students to enrich their skills.
The department extends its services and cooperation to other departments also. The department also extends its services to train the students in employability skills through the Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) and Andhra Pradesh State Skills Development Corporation (APSSDC).

Vision:
- To empower the students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in the English language to get the employment opportunities.
Mission:
- To enhance LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading& Writing) skills through the literary texts.
- To improve the communication skills by conducting various participative learning activities like Quizzes, Role plays, Debates& JAM Sessions etc.,
- To conduct student seminars to improve their presentation skills.
