V.V Giri Govt. kalasala,Dumpagadapa was established in the year 1974. This Institution is at first affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Later after the establishment of the Adikavi Nannaya University, this college has been under affiliation from 2012 to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmahendravaram.
The department of Telugu has its inception in the year 1974. The department is offering Telugu as second language for all UG courses. The department is also offering certificate courses in Telugu such as Journalism, Novels and Stories.

VISION
Department of Telugu aims at the development of good character, moral values and social responsibility making the students learn the greatness of Telugu heritage, customs and traditions.
MISSION
To enhance the social, moral and human values among the student community implementing student centric methods like seminars, workshops, group discussions, assignments, study projects quiz etc.
By offering different classics from ancient and modern literature, we enable the students to develop good character and moral values.
Prepare the students to speak pure Telugu without mixing English, Hindi and Urdu words.
To inculcate the speaking and writing skills in Telugu.
